Santa's Village, Jefferson, NH

When we lived in NH, we went to Santa's Village every year with friends from campus. In December, we went back with our cousins. It's a 2-1/2 hour drive up through Franconia Notch to Jefferson, a very cold place. It's just like going to the North Pole. The rides are cute--built for younger children.

Real reindeer want to be fed. People wait in line forever to get a gingerbread cookie.

The park allows you to bring in food--perfect if you don't want to get greasy fast food at the snack bar.

We spent more time throughout the day trying to locate the letters in the "Elphabet"--small elf statues that have letters that need to be stamped onto a card. It was freezing, our toes were cold, we were hungry, and we were on a mad hunt for our last few elves.

The park is also open in the summer, although we tend to save our trips for the Magical Christmas Season.

If you're in Northern New Hampshire, Santa's Village is a must-do.
